Arthur Wardle born in 1864 was well respected for his paintings of dogs and other wildlife subjects, as well as sporting scenes. Arthur Wardle worked mainly in oil, but he also used watercolours and pastels. Arthur Wardle was a self taught artist and in 1880 his paintings were accepted for exhibition at the Royal Academy when he was just 16 years old, and he continued to exhibit his work at the Royal Academy until 1935, including at Suffolk Street and the New Watercolour Society. Arthur Wardle died on July 16, 1949. |
