HMS Dolphin by Ivan Berryman. The nuclear-powered submarine HMS Repulse (S23) manoeuvres in preparation to berth at HMS Dolphin in Portsmouth harbour in the late 1970s. |
Spirit of Lincoln by Robert Tomlin. In a tribute to Lincoln Cathedral and to the Red Arrows, Lincoln Cathedral's fund-raising department commissioned this beautiful picture by Robert Tomlin to symbolise some of the most famous and outstanding features connected with this lovely city. |
SR45 Princess Over Cowes by Ivan Berryman. The mighty ten-engine Princess flying boat was one of the most advanced aircraft of its day in terms of pressurized hull and assisted flying controls and yet it was, at the same time, something of an anachronism as the age of flying boats had come to an end and the exciting new jet era had arrived. The only SR.45 ever to fly is depicted over the Cowes works where she was built in 1952. |
St Pauls Cathedral and the City of London by George Chambers (GL) No text for this item |
Along the Fowey by Don Breckon This is a sold out edition at the publisher. We have the last remaining copies. |
Farewell, Old Portsmouth by Ivan Berryman. One of the most iconic ships of all time and now beautifully restored to her 1805 condition at Portsmouth, Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar, HMS Victory, is seen here departing Portsmouth Harbour with the frigate Euryalus. |
First Solo by John Young. A de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth over Hatfield Aerodrome, early in 1939. Hatfield was the home of the de Havilland Aircraft Company and No.1 Elementary Flying Training School. |

Pathfinder Halifax by Nicolas Trudgian. Remembered fondly by many RAF, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand bomber crews, the Halifax served many diverse roles in WWII, including service with Special Duties, dropping agents and supplies behind enemy lines. Halifax MkIIs of 35 Squadron, RAF Bomber Command, head out over the Lincolnshire coastline at dusk bound for Germany, August 1942. No.35 Squadron was one of the five squadrons selected to form the original Pathfinder Force. |

Spitfires over London by John Young. Royal Air Force Supermarine Spitfires overfly London with the Tower of London and Tower Bridge in the distance. |
The Thames Looking Towards St Pauls by Graeme Lothian. Seen from the Royal Festival Hall the Oxo Tower stands on the South Bank. On the north side can be seen St Pauls Cathedral, which was finished in 1710. Also Sion College and HMS President. Pleasure craft and working boats continuously make their way up and down the Thames which is tidal. In front of the Oxo Tower during the summer weekends , when the tide is out, hundreds of people gather to picnic or kick a ball around. |
Borough Market by Graeme Lothian. (GS) No text for this item |
Near Buttermere by Peter Symonds. No text for this item |
Take it to the Bridge by Ivan Berryman. As cuts to the RAF and other armed services by the Labour Government were implemented in the late 1960s, Flt Lt Alan R Pollock of No.1 Sqn took it upon himself to stage a very personal protest whilst en route to West Raynham from Tangmere on 5th April 1968. Peeling away from the rest of his flight immediately after take off, Pollock flew low-level to London where he buzzed the Houses of Parliament three times before flying his Hawker Hunter FGA.9 under the upper spans of Tower Bridge. The incident is now part of British aviation folklore, but Pollock was immediately removed from flying duties for his audacity. He will always be recorded in history, however, as the first pilot to fly a jet aircraft through Tower Bridge. |
Kew Gardens by Graeme Lothian. (GS) No text for this item |
Bristol Bulldogs by Michael Turner. 19 Sqn aircraft performing at the 1934 Hendon Air Display. |
Into History - Spitfire Prototype by Ivan Berryman. Supermarine Spitfire prototype K5054 is seen taking to the air for a test flight in June 1936 from Eastleigh Airport in Southampton. Few, at the time, could have known what an iconic aircraft R J Mitchell had designed, yet the beautiful, classic lines were there to see in the very first example. |
Coming In Over the Estuary by Robert Taylor. In Robert Taylors panoramic painting, P-38J Lightnings of the 364th Fighter Group return from a strafing mission over France in the summer of 1944. Making their land-fall at just 100 feet, they skim across an estuary on Englands south coast, near the old village of Bosham. With his unmistakable skill and vivid imagination Robert cleverly contrasts the exhilaration of the low-level combat flying, with the peaceful atmosphere of a quiet coastal setting, emphasising that curious blend of war and peace that was the daily lifestyle of the World War II flyer. This classic aviation painting provides collectors with a wonderful study of a memorable warbird. |
Blackburn Iris by Michael Turner. A 209 Squadron Blackburn Iris taxiing out from Calshot in 1931. |
