Text for the above items :

Much Wenlock by Don Breckon.

This superb Don Breckon painting painted in 1988 was released as a print in around 1990, and these are much sought after. The last train pulled out of Much Wenlock railway station in 1962. The old railway house is now a private residence. The railway was opened in 1861 to serve the local industries (moulting and tanning) and also brought thousands of visitors to the Much Wenlock Olympic Games founded by William Penny Brooks in 1850. He campaigned around the world for the revival of the great ancient Greek games.
