Junior Paramore playing for Samoa against Wales by David Pentland. Junior Paramore had a long international rugby union career with Samoa, competing in three world cups, in 1991, 1995 and 1999. One of the highlights was the 38 - 31 win against Wales at a near capacity Millennium Stadium, Cardiff in the 1999 World Cup. In the painting, Junior Paramore is carrying the ball into contact with Wales No.6 Martyn Williams. |

In the Tri-Nations Series of 2002, New Zealand claimed victory thanks in no small part to this tight defeat of rivals Australia in Christchurch, where in a game with no tries, New Zealand won by 12 points to 6 thanks to 4 penalties from Andrew Mehrtens. Despite losing a man to the sin-bin for the end of the game, the All Blacks held on despite the inevitable Australian pressure. New Zealand Winger Caleb Ralph is shown in this closest of matches. |
