The 1st Kings Dragoon Guards at Cateau, 25th April 1794 by Harry Payne. The Allies were attacked on the plains of Cateau by 30,000 strong French Army, a fierce battle ensued but at the end the allies were victorious. The Kings Dragoon Guards captured several pieces of artillery and ammunition weapons and for this service the regiment received 500 pounds by order of the Duke of York. |
