Clipped Signature - Jack Hinton VC. A New Zealander, he was serving in Greece in 1940 as it was being evacuated by Allied troops and disobeyed orders to gather 12 compatriots to attack the Germans in Kalamata. He killed the crew of a gun, and cleared out several other enemy positions with grenades before falling wounded and being captured. For this he was awarded the Victoria Cross. He died in 1997. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
