Clipped Signature - 3rd Earl Kitchener. The great nephew of Lord Kitchener of Khartoum famed during World War One, he succeeded his grandfather as Earl Kitchener who had himself inherited the title from his younger brother on his death in 1916. Henry Kitchener, the 3rd Earl, served in the Royal Corps of Signals, retiring with the rank of Major. He took his hereditary place in the House of Lords in 1942, making his first speech more than 40 years later. He died on 16th December 2011. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
