Clipped Signature - Donald Hodge. Born in 1894, he enlisted in September 1914 and fought throughout the Great War. At the Somme, he was a Lance Corporal in the Queen's Own West Kent Regiment attached as Orderly and Runner to Captain Fleming of 55th Brigade. In WW2 he was an Air Raid Warden, joined the Home Guard and then was an anti-aircraft gunner in the Royal Artillery. He lived to at least 100 years old. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
