Not content with bombing hostile dug outs during a heavy engagement, Lieutenant John Vincent Holland, of the Leinster Regiment, fearlessly led his bombers through the British artillery barrage and cleared a greater part of the village in front. He started out with twenty-six bombers and finished up with only five, after capturing some fifty prisoners.
