Sir Frederick Page CBE

An engineer, he joined Hawker aircraft in 1938 after graduating. He solved important problems during World War Two with the Typhoon and Tempest aircraft, improving them and laying the groundwork for future aircraft design. Joining English Electric, he was instrumental in the design of both the Canberra and Lightning aircraft. Latterly he became Chairman and Chief Executive of British Aerospace from 1977 until he reired in 1982. He died on 29th May 2005.

An engineer, he joined Hawker aircraft in 1938.
