Lieutenant William George Hall

William Hall was born at Rotherhithe on 23rd May 1898. He was educated in Rotherhithe and joined the Royal Naval Air Service in June 1916. He was trained as an observer and flew as a navigator in Handley Page 0/400 heavy bombers of No.16 Sqn RNAS (later No.216 Sqn RAF) from Ochey, near Nancy, on bombing operations against industrial targets in Germany. After the Great War, he joined BP Shell as an accountant. During the Second World War he served in Balloon Command of the Royal Air Force. He completed 50 years service to Shell before retiring.

Clipped Signature - William Hall.

Born at Rotherhithe in 1898, he joined the Royal Naval Air Service in June 1916 and flew as a navigator in Handley Page 0/400 heavy bombers of No.16 Sqn RNAS (later No.216 Sqn RAF) on bombing operations against industrial targets in Germany.
