HMS Euryalus Arriving at Spithead by Ivan Berryman.
The 36-gun frigate HMS Euryalus is shown arriving to join Nelsons flagship HMS Victory off St Helens, Isle of Wight, at around 8.00am on the morning of 12th September 1805. These two ships would depart together just three days later to join His Majestys ships Ajax and Thunderer off Plymouth before heading south to Spanish waters and the Battle of Trafalgar.

Phantom Country by Simon Atack.
At the height of the Cold War during the 1970s and through the 80s, low level, fast-jet training sorties were absolutely crucial to Britains air defences. This was an era of the true, thoroughbred supersonic jet fighter like arguably the greatest of all jet combat aircraft of that time; the McDonnell Douglas F.4 Phantom. Scorching down the peaceful beauty of the Spey river valley, Scotland, four RAF Phantom FG-1s led by (at that time) Wg. Cdr. Ian Macfadyen and his navigator flying XV500, flash over Craiglockhart Castle on an ultra low-level training sortie during the squadrons period of transition from its formation at RAF Conningsby to its home station at RAF Leuchars.

Supreme Courage by Philip West.
Skuas flew from HMS Ark Royal through much of the 1940 campaign off Norway, and one is seen getting airborne in typically grey North Sea weather. The Blackburn Skua had many remarkable firsts to its credit; the first all-metal monoplane built for the Fleet Air Arm (FAA); the first dive bomber in British air services; the first enemy aircraft shot down in WW2 fell to a Skua; the first fighter ace in the FAA (Lt. Bill Lucy DSO) flew Skuas and the first warship (Konigsberg) destroyed by dive bombing was sunk by Skuas.

Dawn of a Legend by Stephen Brown.
In what became a familiar sight over East Anglia during World War II, RAF de Havilland Mosquitoes head out at low level towards the North Sea. These aircraft are Mosquito B. Mk IVs of No 2 Group, 105 Squadron operating from Horsham St. Faith in the summer of 1942. Also known as The Wooden Wonder or Timber Terror, the Mosquito was a twin-engine aircraft with the pilot and navigator sitting side by side. Its plywood structure gave the Mosquito exceptional speed, ability and durability.
